My Investing Journey

My interest in investing grew from personal financial experience and years of independent research into how Nigerians can build and preserve wealth.

After experiencing significant financial loss from a get-rich-quick scheme, I began taking a more serious interest in understanding how legitimate investments work, the risks involved, and how wealth can be built over time. I started investing in Nigerian stocks in 2020, which further deepened my interest in researching the Nigerian investment landscape.

That experience shaped the way I approach financial education today. I believe people should understand an investment before putting their money into it—not simply follow hype, promises of quick returns, or someone else’s recommendation.

What I Write About

At KiboRise, I create educational content covering areas such as:

  • Nigerian and foreign stocks
  • Dividend investing
  • Mutual funds
  • Treasury bills
  • FGN bonds
  • Fixed-income investments
  • Investment platforms and brokers
  • Long-term investing and wealth building
  • Personal finance

I also create practical financial calculators and tools that help readers better understand concepts such as compound growth, savings goals, dividend yields, inflation, mutual funds and net worth.

How I Research and Create Content

My approach to financial content is focused on clear, practical, and evidence-based education.

When researching an article, I use relevant and credible sources where appropriate, including company disclosures, fund documents, regulatory information from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Nigeria, market data from the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX), government publications from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Debt Management Office (DMO), official sources, and other reliable references.

I aim to explain financial concepts in straightforward language and distinguish factual information from opinions, examples, assumptions, and hypothetical illustrations.

Where figures, rates, fees, policies, or other information can change, readers are encouraged to verify the latest information with the relevant official source before making a financial decision.

KiboRise Is a Financial Education Platform

The purpose of KiboRise is education, not personalised investment advice.

The platform is designed to give readers the knowledge, context, research, and practical tools they need to better understand their financial and investment options.

KiboRise does not promise guaranteed investment returns, promote get-rich-quick schemes, or encourage readers to make investment decisions based solely on a single article.

Instead, our goal is to help readers learn how investments work, understand the risks, compare available options, and conduct their own research before making financial decisions.

My Approach to Financial Education

I believe good financial education should be:

Practical — Concepts should be connected to real financial situations Nigerians can understand.

Clear — Complex investment topics should be explained without unnecessary jargon.

Evidence-based — Important claims should be supported by credible information and sources.

Transparent — Readers should be able to distinguish facts, opinions, examples, and hypothetical illustrations.

Long-term focused — Building wealth is generally a process that requires knowledge, patience, discipline, and an understanding of risk.
